STEP file icon and CAD file

Instant quoting from industry-standard CAD files

We’re excited to announce that Fabrex now offers full support for STEP files! Upload and process your STEP models directly in the platform to generate fast, accurate quotes. This upgrade makes integrating CAD data into your sales and production workflows smoother than ever.

    Fabrex step files upload

Seamless validation and full platform integration

Your STEP files will now be automatically validated and ready to use just like STL files. From quoting and part visualization to production management and manufacturing handoff — STEP files are now supported across the entire Fabrex platform.

    Enhancing convex hull calculations

Comparison of a 3D part with its calculated convex hull

Convex Hull Surface Area Calculation is Live!

Following the positive feedback on our convex hull volume calculation tool, we’ve listened to your requests — and delivered! Fabrex now also calculates the convex hull surface area for uploaded parts.

This new enhancement gives you even deeper insights into your components, enabling more precise quoting, planning, and manufacturing analysis.

Context hull surface is only available for valid pieces, and the piece's surface will be used as fallback.
